Watch This: How Greenpower Mobility Is Taking Over And What Can We Do About It

Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower designs and builds, as well as distributes a full suite of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes school buses, transit buses, cargo buses, buses for cargo, and shuttles.

EV Star is a zero-emission vehicle with a high degree of customization. It's also FTA certified and Buy America compliant. It offers class-leading range, ADA wheelchair provisions, and cargo delivery setups.

GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of medium- and heavy-duty all-electric vehicles, including models with lower and high floors. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can be used to accommodate many different upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows the best battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to be used for mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering applications. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation than traditional trucks allows for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a more extended life. The EV Star REEFERX has a higher capacity for cargo, and an industry-leading payload to range for zero-emission goods or passenger transportation.

GreenPower partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems. This will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star will also be capable of wireless charging of 75 kW.

We were allowed to test drive the EV9 on a local highway for several hours and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable to drive long distances. The ride is smooth over ruts and bumps, while the EV9 does a great job of reducing wind and road noise on the highway. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by simply taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully recharged within three hours at home, or with any commercial charger. The driver has the option of choosing between two operating modes - eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode prioritizes torque as well as cruise control and handling, while sport mode increases speed. Both modes are fun to drive, and offer a unique experience for those who haven't experienced driving an electric vehicle before.

my response  provides a variety of other EVs which include a multi-purpose electric minibus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used as executive shuttles, microtransit or transit buses, vanpools, or paratransit vehicles.

GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric cars. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants. We will be following the AV Star as it makes its public demonstration tour the coming months. We will share more details on this EV that is truly innovative!
